Joining or switching organizations on edyoucated

Learn how to join organizations, switch between them, and understand domain and email domain restrictions

Updated today

edyoucated supports multiple organizations per user. Each organization is a separate tenant with isolated data. This guide explains how to join an organization and switch between organizations.

Understanding organizations

An organization on edyoucated is a fully separated, secure tenant. By default, users from one organization cannot access data from another. You can be a member of multiple organizations, for example if you work with different legal entities, subsidiaries, or partners.

Ways to join an organization

  1. Invitation by an organization owner/admin: You receive an email invitation or are added by an admin via user management. Learn more in Create and manage users.

  2. Automatic HR/IT synchronization: Your account is created and kept in sync from systems like Microsoft Entra ID or Personio (if your organization has activated an integration). See Integrate with Microsoft Entra ID or Integrate with Personio.

  3. Organization invitation link: Your admin shares an invite link that lets you join directly. Invite links can also target a specific team.

  4. Domain-based self‑join: If your organization configured Domains (Administration → Settings → Security), only organizations that added your email domain appear on the Choose your organization screen after sign‑up.

How domain restrictions work

Organizations can restrict who can see them during registration and who can access them via invite links or email. This is controlled by two settings in Administration → Settings → Security.

  • Domains: Controls visibility on the Choose your organization screen after registration. Only organizations that listed your email domain will be visible.

  • Email Domains: Controls automatic access via invite link or email. If your email domain matches the allowed list, you are added automatically. Otherwise, you land on the Choose screen and only see organizations visible for your domain.

Note: If an owner invites you by email and your address is outside the allowed Email Domains, they will see a warning but can still send the invite. You can complete registration with that email.

Switching organizations

You can switch between organizations using either of the following methods.

Method A – Via profile menu

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner.

  2. Click Switch organization (or select the current organization name if shown).

  3. Choose the organization you want to switch to. The app reloads in that organization’s context.

Method B – Via settings

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner and select Settings.

  2. In Login information, look for Current Organization. Click the organization name/logo or the Switch organization link to open the switcher.

  3. Select the organization you want to switch to. The app reloads in that organization’s context.

Note: The Current Organization card is visible to all users. If you only belong to one organization, no other organizations will be listed in the switcher.

Troubleshooting

  • I cannot find my other organization: Confirm that you have been invited or synced into it. If needed, ask an organization owner to invite you.

  • Domain self-join does not work: Make sure you sign up with the approved email domain configured by your organization.
