Add and edit cover images

Add, edit, crop, generate, replace or remove cover images for events, journeys and learning paths

Updated over a month ago

Use cover images to make your events, journeys, and learning paths visually engaging and to improve discovery and recognition. This guide explains how to add, edit, crop, generate with AI, replace, or remove cover images across all three entity types.

Who can use this feature?

  • Users with role Owner, Curation Admin and Author

  • Available on All Plans

  • Available on Desktop

Where cover images appear

Cover images are shown on the detail pages (admin view), in catalog listings, and anywhere the entity is previewed to learners. Updating the cover image applies wherever the entity is displayed.

Open the cover image dialog

  1. Go to the detail page of the event, journey, or learning path.

  2. Click Add cover image. If a cover image already exists, click Edit cover image.

The cover image dialog lets you upload an image from your device or generate one using AI. You can also crop and position the image before saving.

Upload an image

  1. In the cover image dialog, choose Upload a file and select an image file from your device.

  2. Most common formats are supported (e.g., PNG, JPG/JPEG). Maximum file size: 20 MB.

  3. After upload, the image opens in the crop view (see next section).

Tip: Use a high‑quality image that looks good in a wide, banner‑like format. Avoid text-heavy images, as text may be cropped on different screen sizes.

Crop and position your image

Use the built-in crop tools to ensure the image fits the cover area:

  • Drag the selection to reposition it within the image.

  • Resize the selection to adjust how much of the image is visible.

  • The crop area preserves the correct aspect ratio for the cover image across events, journeys, and learning paths.

When you are satisfied with the preview, click Use image to save the changes.

Generate an image (AI)

  1. In the cover image dialog, select Generate image.

  2. Choose an Image style. Available styles are: Photography, 3D Rendering, Sketch, Pixel, Retro, Cyberpunk, Watercolor, Abstract, Minimalist, Comic, Neon, Pastel.

  3. Enter a prompt describing the image you want (for example, the theme, subject, colors, or mood).

  4. Optional: Enable Title and/or Description to use the item's attributes as input.

  5. Click Generate it to create a preview. You can refine the prompt or style and generate again to explore alternatives. Generation can take up to ~1 minute.

  6. After generation, adjust the crop (the correct aspect ratio is applied automatically) and click Use image to apply.

Tips:

  • Be specific in your prompt (topic, audience, tone, colors).

  • Try different styles for the best visual fit.

Replace an existing image

  1. Open the detail page and click Edit cover image.

  2. Upload a new file or generate a new image with AI.

  3. Adjust cropping and click Use image. The previous image is replaced everywhere the entity appears.

Remove the image

  1. Open the detail page and click Edit cover image.

  2. Click Remove image and the Use image to confirm.

  3. The entity reverts to its default placeholder until you add a new cover image.

Troubleshooting

  • Image looks blurry: Upload a higher‑resolution image.

  • Important content is cut off: Reposition the image in the crop view or choose a different image composition.

  • Cannot edit the cover image: Ensure you have edit permissions for the event, journey, or learning path.

  • AI result not suitable: Refine the prompt with more detail, try another style, or generate again to see more variations.
