Now enter the title and click Create learning path.

You will now be directed to the Learning Path's Details Page.

1. Edit details

Click Edit (1) in the Details section to change the title and add a synopsis or description. These will later appear on the learning path map or learning path overview page.

2. Add content

To add new content, click Edit (2) in the Content section. Here you define which skill atoms should be played out in this learning path.

Unlike standard learning paths, you do not string materials together here, but work with the skill taxonomy. Learn more about how to use and edit the skill taxonomy here.

(a) Select the content relevant for the learning path from the skill taxonomy. You can add entire skills and chapters, or individual atoms.

(b) Here you can search for keywords or set a filter for skills you have created.

(c) On the right side you can see the overview of the selected skill atoms. Using drag & drop, you can adjust the order in which they are later played out in the learning path.

Please note: In contrast to the material composition for standard learning paths, atoms including all your content are used here. This includes, for example, assessment and quiz questions. More info on this in the skill taxonomy article.

(d) Choose between the view in the available languages in the dropdown. Since an atom can be multilingual, you can create adaptive learning paths for multiple languages at once.

(e) This is where you save the progress and close the window.

3. Share and recommend

After adding content, you can specify which learners can see this learning path in the tab Share (3).

Share

You can share the learning path with the entire organization, with teams, or just with individual learners. Shared learning paths are located in the library under Learning Paths in the left navigation menu and can also be found through search.

Please note: Remember to always publish the shared learning paths afterwards as well (see 7. below).

Recommend

Additionally you have the possibility to recommend learning paths here. This means that the learning path will be displayed on the learners' dashboard.

Recommended learning paths on the dashboard

Please note: Learning paths can only be recommended if they are shared at the same time.

4. Additional settings

In the tab Settings (4) you have among other things the possibility to define if the successful answer of a knowledge check is required to complete a skill atom. For more information on how to create knowledge checks, see this article on skill taxonomy.

Please note: If you have any questions about other options in this area, please do not hesitate to contact us personally.

5. Set learning path as assessment

In the tab Assessment (5) you can define the learning path as an assessment only. This means that the learning path is played out without learning content and only the answers to the self-assessment questions are recorded. This can be useful, for example, if you want to play out courses/materials on other platforms but do not have the option there to personalize the learning experience based on the knowledge level.

For this use case, you can also display a link at the end of the assessment that takes learners to the relevant content.

6. Create and edit learning path in different languages

Use the dropdown (6) to switch between the different languages during editing. This allows you to specify the details as well as the content individually.

7. Publish

By default, all newly created learning paths are initially in Draft status. You can see this status on the right side of the screen under Status.

Click on Publish (7) to make the learning path accessible to the group of people defined under 3. They will now find the path in the library or via the search.
