Examples of use cases
Project staffing: Select a skill profile and/or skills to find users best suited for a new project.
Team skill analysis: Filter by team to assess the skill levels within a specific group.
Individual skill development: Identify users with lower ratings in certain skills for targeted training initiatives.
Accessing the skill experts dashboard
In the main navigation on the left, click on Analytics. Then, click on Skill experts to open the skill experts dashboard.
Prerequisites and important considerations
Skill ratings required: Only users and skills with at least one rating are displayed in the skill matrix. If a skill has not been rated by any user, it will not appear in the table. Similarly, users who have not provided any ratings will not be shown.
Team filter behavior: When filtering by team, only users within the selected teams who have at least one skill rating will be displayed.
Skill and chapter structure: All ratings are associated with chapters within skills. The skill matrix displays the skill title followed by the chapter title, separated by a colon.
Dashboard filters
There are five main filters available to refine your search and analysis:
Skill profile: Select one or more predefined skill profiles. When you choose a skill profile, all skills and chapters included in that profile are considered in the analysis.
Skills (Priority): Choose specific skills that are most important for your analysis. These are highlighted as priority skills in the skill matrix and are marked with a star icon.
Skills (Nice-to-have): Select additional skills that are relevant but less critical than the priority skills. These are included in the analysis but are not highlighted as priority.
User name: Filter the matrix to display only selected users. This is useful for focusing on a specific subset of users.
Team: Filter by one or more teams. This allows you to quickly select multiple users without having to choose each user individually.
How the filters work together
At least one of the following filters must be set for data to appear in the dashboard:
Skill profile
Skills (Priority)
Skills (Nice-to-have)
If none of these filters are set, no data will be displayed in the skill matrix or user list.
Understanding the skill matrix
The skill matrix is the central component of the dashboard, providing a detailed overview of user ratings for each skill chapter. The structure is as follows:
Attribute | Description |
Skill | Displays the skill name, followed by the chapter title (e.g., "Account Management: Client Needs Analysis"). Priority skills are marked with a star icon and listed at the top. |
User columns | Each column represents a user who matches the filter criteria and has at least one skill rating. The column header shows the user's average score (e.g., "Γ 1.31 - Paulina Braun"). |
Cells | Each cell shows the rating of the user for the corresponding skill chapter (based on a self-assessment of the user). Ratings are numerical values between 0 and 5. |
Sorting and user list details
User column sorting: User columns in the matrix are sorted from left to right by the average score for the selected skills and chapters. The user with the highest average score appears on the far left.
User list sorting: The user list on the right is sorted in descending order by average score. The user with the highest average is at the top.
Accessing user profiles: Clicking a user name in the list opens the user's profile in a new browser tab, allowing you to view more detailed information about their skills and ratings.
How average scores are calculated
The average score for each user is calculated based on their ratings (self-assessment) for the selected skills and chapters. The score ranges from 0 (all relevant chapters rated as 0) to 5 (all relevant chapters rated as 5).
Key points to remember
At least one of the following filters must be set: Skill profile, Skills (Priority), or Skills (Nice-to-have).
Only users and skills with at least one rating are displayed.
Priority skills are highlighted with a star and shown at the top of the matrix.
User columns and the user list are sorted by average score for the selected skills and chapters.
