Types of leaderboards

There are two types of leaderboards available:

  • Individual leaderboard: Compares users individually based on their learning points. For privacy, only the user's own name is fully visible, while other usernames are blurred.

  • Team leaderboard: Compares teams within the organization based on learning points. The default display shows the average number of learning points per team member to account for varying team sizes.

Configuring the leaderboard

The leaderboard can be configured individually by each learner using the following options:

  • Leaderboard type: Users can select between Individual ranking and Team ranking from the dropdown menu below the leaderboard (if both options are activated by the administrators).

  • Time period: The default time period is the last 30 days. Users can choose from the following time frames:

    • Last 7 days

    • Last 30 days

    • Last 90 days

    • Last year

    • All time

  • Average value vs. total value: When the team ranking is selected, the leaderboard displays the average learning points per team member. To view the total sum of learning points for a team, click the average symbol in the table header.

Personal data in the individual leaderboard

To protect user privacy, the individual leaderboard blurs the names of other users, showing only the ranking position as well as the number of learning points they have accumulated. This ensures that users can see their ranking without revealing the identities of others.

Configuring the leaderboard in settings

Owners of the organization can enable or disable learning points and the individual or team leaderboards in the organization settings.

  1. Go to Administration β†’ Settings β†’ Curation and open Gamification.

  2. Toggle Enable display of learning points on/off.

  3. Toggle Enable individual leaderboard and/or Enable team leaderboard on/off.

  4. Click Save.

Note: Learning points are a prerequisite. You cannot enable a leaderboard if Enable display of learning points is off.
