Before you reset progress

A learning path progress reset affects one learner's progress for one learning path. The action is available from the Learners tab in Learning path details when the learning path is an eligible non-adaptive learning path and the action is allowed for your user.

Before resetting progress, consider the learner-visible effects:

  • The learner's Progress for the learning path is set to 0%.

  • The learner remains visible in the Learners tab.

  • Last reset on is updated where this column is shown.

  • The learning path no longer appears as Continue learning for the learner until they start it again.

  • The learner can start the learning path again.

  • When progress is reset with the admin Reset progress action, the learner can receive an in-app notification and an email informing them about the reset.

Resetting a learner's progress

  1. Open the relevant learning path in Learning path details.

  2. Go to the Learners tab.

  3. Find the learner whose progress you want to reset.

  4. Open the row More actions menu.

  5. Click Reset progress.

  6. Read the confirmation dialog.

  7. Confirm the reset in the dialog.

  8. Check the status message shown after confirmation.

After the reset is completed, the learner's Progress is set to 0% and Last reset on is updated where available.

Learner notifications and email

After an authorized user uses the admin Reset progress action for a learner's progress for a learning path, the affected learner can receive an in-app notification and an email. These messages inform the learner that their progress for the learning path was reset.

Notification and email delivery can depend on the platform's notification and transactional email behavior for your organization.

If reset progress is not available

If you do not see Reset progress in the row More actions menu, check the following:

  • The learning path must be eligible for learning path progress reset.

  • The learning path must be a non-adaptive learning path.

  • Your user must have permission to reset learning path progress.

  • You must open the action from the learner row in the Learners tab of Learning path details.
