Compliance dashboard

Analyze compliance metrics, interpret policy details, and export assignment data with dashboard filters.

Access and layout

Open Analytics → Compliance to analyze compliance policies and assignments within your organization.

Who can use this feature?

  • Access requires a separate Compliance-Analytics permission, which users with the Owner role receive by default. This is distinct from permissions for administering compliance policies and assignments. See Roles and permissions.

  • Available on Desktop and Mobile.

The dashboard has two tabs:

  • Metrics: The Overview section contains six metric tiles and the time chart. The Details section contains the Policy details table. Available filters are Date, Team, and Policy. The date filter applies to the overview, not to the policy details table.

  • Raw data: The List of all users and their assignments table provides assignment-level data for review and export. Available filters are Team and Policy.

For general instructions on using filters and exporting dashboard data, see Tips for interacting with dashboards.

Overview and trends over time

The overview shows point-in-time counts, not totals accumulated across the selected period. The tiles use the last available day within the date range you select.

The Completion rate and assignments by date and status chart shows the same kind of snapshot over time. Date aggregation groups the timeline into periods. Each period shows the counts on its last available day—not the sum of its daily counts.

Selecting a team or policy changes which assignments are counted, but does not move the timeline or its reference dates. If your selection has no matching assignments on a reference date, the dashboard does not fall back to an earlier date with matching assignments. Counts are zero, that means there is no completion rate if there are no eligible assignments.

The four status tiles match the counts at the final chart point. Together, they equal the height of the final stacked bar. The completion rate tile matches the final rate point, subject to the tile’s percentage formatting.

Metrics and completion rate

Tile

Meaning

Policies

The number of distinct non-draft policies with matching assignments on the reference date. This is not the number of all policies created in your organization.

Completion rate

The share of eligible assignments that are completed, calculated as described below.

Active

Open assignments whose completion window has started and whose due date has not passed.

Overdue

Open assignments whose due date has passed.

Completed

Completed assignments whose cycle is still running on the reference date. Completions from earlier cycles of a recurring policy are not included.

Waived

Assignments for which the obligation has been waived.

The stacked bars show Active, Overdue, Completed, and Waived. Scheduled, missed, and canceled assignments are not included in these bars. Multiple team memberships do not cause the same assignment to be counted more than once.

Completion rate = completed assignments / assignments that were due and could be completed. Scheduled assignments (completion window not yet open), waived assignments (obligation lifted) and canceled assignments are not counted. Missed assignments count as not completed. A waiver does not count as a completion.

In the overview this works out as Completed / (Active + Overdue + Completed): an assignment leaves the snapshot on the day its completion window closes or it is canceled, so missed and canceled assignments never appear there.

For recurring policies, the rate can fall when another cycle begins—even to 0%—because assignments in that cycle must be fulfilled. This does not undo earlier completions.

Policy details

The Policy details table shows one row per policy for the current cycle, based on the latest available data. It respects the Team and Policy selections, but is independent of the Date filter. For each person, the current cycle is the one assignment whose completion window is open now – or, if none is open, their most recent one.

For recurring policies, the current cycle is the round currently running, not simply the cycle with the most recently created assignment. A successor cycle may already have scheduled assignments while the running cycle still has completed or overdue assignments. The table does not combine all rounds.

Completion rate and status columns

The table uses the same definition as the overview. A missed assignment can still appear in the current cycle if the person has no newer assignment for the policy; it then counts as not completed: Completed / (Active + Overdue + Completed + Missed). If there are no assignments in the calculation base, no rate is available.

The status columns break down the assignments in the current cycle:

  • Completed on time: Assignments completed by their due date.

  • Completed after due date: Assignments completed late. Together, these two completion columns provide the completed count used in the formula.

  • Active, Overdue, and Waived: Use the meanings explained above.

  • Missed: Assignments that were missed and remain unfulfilled.

  • Canceled: Assignments that were canceled.

  • Scheduled: Assignments that have been created but whose completion window has not yet opened.

These status columns, including both completion columns, add up to Assignments.

Additional detail columns

Column

Meaning

Policy

The policy’s title.

Next due

The earliest outstanding due date among Scheduled, Active, Overdue, and Missed assignments. If none exist, it shows the latest due date in the current cycle.

Duration in minutes

The configured learning path duration—not the time learners actually spent learning.

Recurring

Yes or No, indicating whether the policy is recurring.

Current audience

The number of people in the current target audience, including people who do not yet have an assignment. Archived policies have an empty current audience.

Assignments

The number of assignments in the current cycle – one per person, so this equals the number of people with a current assignment.

Link

Opens the associated policy.

Link to requirement

Opens the associated requirement.

Current audience and Assignments can differ. Completed, waived, or canceled assignments remain in the current cycle after someone leaves the target audience, so Assignments can be higher. It can also be lower, because the current audience includes people who do not have an assignment yet.

Raw data and export

On Raw data, the List of all users and their assignments table contains one row per matching assignment at the latest available data state. It is independent of the date filter and is not limited to the current cycle.

Use this table for assignment-level analysis and exports. Export steps are covered in Tips for interacting with dashboards. The export uses the following uppercase column names.

Policy, person, and assignment

  • POLICY and REQUIREMENT: The policy and requirement titles.

  • USER, EMAIL, TEAMS, and ROLE: The assigned person’s name, email address, teams, and organization role.

  • STATUS and CYCLE: The assignment's status and its round number, counted separately for recurring and one-time assignments.

Planning and outcome dates

  • SCHEDULED_AT: The date the assignment was scheduled.

  • OPEN_FROM: The date its completion window opens.

  • DUE_ON: Its due date.

  • COMPLETED_AT, WAIVED_AT, MISSED_AT, and CANCELED_AT: The respective completion, waiver, missed, and cancellation dates.

Completion, waiver, and record matching

  • COMPLETED_ON_TIME: Empty before completion. true means completed on time; false means completed after the due date.

  • DAYS_TO_COMPLETE: Days from the opening of the completion window to completion.

  • COMPLETED_VIA: The source of the completion.

  • COMPLETED_BY and WAIVED_BY: The person or source responsible for the completion or waiver, respectively.

  • ASSIGNMENT_ID and USER_ID: Identifiers for matching individual assignment and user records.

Understanding differences and data freshness

Check Last updated to see how recent the available dashboard data is. Selecting a past date range changes the overview’s snapshots, while policy details and raw data still use the latest available data.

When comparing figures across the dashboard or an export, account for these differences:

  • Time and cycle scope: The overview reports snapshots within your date range. Policy details cover the current cycle. Raw data can include assignments from other cycles, including prepared successor cycles.

  • Completion rate: The definition is the same everywhere. The overview counts assignments on a reference date, when missed assignments have already dropped out. Policy details count the current cycle, which can still contain a missed assignment.

  • Draft policies: Drafts are excluded from the tiles, chart, and policy details. Raw data can include assignments belonging to draft policies.

  • Organization membership: Assignments that cannot be linked to a membership in your organization are excluded from raw data, but may still count in policy details. A deactivated membership is not the same as a deleted membership: deactivation alone does not remove the membership record.

These differences mean that an unadjusted raw-data row count does not necessarily match the current-cycle assignment total or the overview’s point-in-time counts.
